Diabetes Linked to Caesareans 

A study by the Queen's University, Belfast has found a possible link between caesareans and children developing type 1 diabetes later in life.

The study suggests babies delivered by caesarean could have a 20% higher risk of developing type 1 diabetes.

The reason for the link is not fully understood but one theory is that being born by caesarean may effect the development of the immune system.
